Allestree Lane - Allestree, Derby

There is an array of convenient shops in Allestree, many within walking distance including the Park Farm Shopping Centre. Derby offers the larger shopping outlets and can be easily reached by public transport.

For those not so into their shopping the Peak District National Park covers 555 square miles of beautiful countryside.

There are two Primary Schools in Allestree; Portway Junior School on Robincroft Road and Lawn Primary School on Norbury Close. Woodlands Community School is the local comprehensive school with a sixth form, catering for around 1150 pupils aged 11–18. The catchment area of The Ecclesbourne School also includes Allestree.

The University of Derby has its main campus within the ward. It is situated on Kedleston Road and has been since the buildings were opened in 1960 for the College of Technology.
